About Waddy Oursler

Trainer- William “Waddy” Oursler began cultivating his life-long passion for horses at age 9.  Privileged to learn from high-caliber trainers since he was a junior rider, Mr. Oursler developed his skills while training clients for America’s most prestigious horse shows, including the internationally recognized Devon Horse Show in Devon, Pennsylvania.

While pursuing a degree in psychology at the University of Central Florida, Waddy apprenticed with well-known trainers Brenda Watson and “Spank” Deemer, and worked for famous horse trainer Don Stewart.

In 1980, Mr. Oursler established his first barn, Waters Edge, in Jacksonville, Florida, expanding his training portfolio with great riders and horses. His passion for the sport led him to co-found the Greater Orlando Hunter Jumper Association (GOHJA) in 1998.

In 2004, Mr. Oursler moved Waters Edge to his hometown, Orlando. In 2012- Waddy is pleased to announce Waters Edge’s new state-of-the-art riding facility and permanent home in Apopka, Florida.

Waddy develops riders’ skills through horsemanship in a nurturing, fun environment, preparing them and their horses for competitions in local and “A” rated shows.
