Meet The Team
W. ``Waddy`` Oursler
Waddy Oursler, a Florida native has over 40 years experience in the horse world both as a rider and trainer. Privileged to learn from high-caliber trainers since he was a junior rider, Mr. Oursler developed his skills while training clients for America’s most prestigious horse shows, including the Devon Horse Show, Capital Challenge, Maclay Finals and the Winter Equestrian Festival, Wellington.
A graduate of UCF, he went on to apprentice for Brenda Watson and “Spank” Deemer before going on to work with Don Stewart. With this collective knowledge he became a founding member of GOHJA before opening his first barn in Jacksonville, Florida. To grow his business and portfolio, Waddy moved into his new state-of-art stable Waters Edge Stables in Apopka, Florida. It is here that Waddy develops riders skills at every level in a nurturing and positive environment preparing riders and their horses for competitions in local, regional and “A” rated shows.
Jessica Cross
Jessica Cross joined Waters Edge Stables in June 2017. Jessica, raised in the sunshine state, skipped out of ballet classes to ride ponies from age 6, and she has been a passionate and hardworking equestrian ever since.
Jessica collaborates with Waddy and the horses’ owner on the overall goals and training requirements. Her students inherit Jessica’s dedication, respect for the horses and passion for the sport while building strong skills for the showgrounds. Jessica can transform a beginners dream of riding, to reality.
